BACK TO THE FUTURE: CLUELESS

"He does dress better than I do, what would I bring to the relationship?"

Opening this post is one of my favourite quotes by Cher Horowitz. The popular, fashion-obsessed, 90s It-girl from the 90s version of mean girls, Clueless. This movie is a teenage classic that just gets better with age; if you haven't seen it i strongly suggest you grab your closest girl friends, popcorn and a diet coke (one of the many accessories in the hands of Cher Horowitz).

This seasons designers seem to have raided Cher Horowitz' closet and translated it onto the A/W13 catwalk and high street collections.

Trends: Plaid, mini skirts, cross necklaces and ofcourse the pink & fluffy.

During this post i want to take you guys on a flashback to the fashion in this 90s movie classic and put a modern twist on what Cher Horowitz would be wearing in the fashion forward 21st century.

Modern Twist: Plaid - Sports luxe has hit the fashion industry hard this year, hence why i chose the boyfriend tee in the plaid print which embodies the 90s clueless theme. To add to the modern twist i added the famous "coltrane" boots and a holographic bag.

Modern Twist: Pink and daydreamin' - This look embodies Cher Horowitz but i brought her to the current '13 fashion trends. This perfect "whatever" bra top (which is a quote made famous from this classic) paired with a baby blue pleated mini and these timeless heels. Over the top, a popular piece in Cher's wardrobe, a white sheer kimono and of course..the fluffy pink pen.

Modern Twist: Date Night - This red dress is P E R F E C T I O N, there really isn't much I can say on this dress as it truly speaks for itself. W O W *round of applause for missguided*

Modern Twist: Head over heels - This cute ensemble has been brought to the 21st century by keeping the pink, fluffy crop top but combining it with the infamous Zara skort. To elongate the legs i paired the outfit with black strappy heels and for an extra modern twist, a pink holographic satchel and Michael Kors watch.

Hi guys! 

The time has finally come after months and months of exams, planning and admitted procrastination ...... our first fashion post has arrived!! Most of the fashion posts will be written and posted by me(Fasia) and i thought there is no better way to start than with one of my beloved Polyvore creations.

(i got mine for a proud deal equivalent to £50 in america so i suggest hitchhiking via someone's suitcase or just bag yourself a holiday for the summer and grab these mighty fine boots!)

Here's the look..

I love this look as i took two juxtaposing ideas which i combined to gain one look. One is urban street style (timberland) and the other side of the look is very girly and doll like (pink, flowers etc), kind of like a barbie.

  

So there you go, my first fashion post. I would love and greatly welcome comments and opinions.

p.s. please be nice but honest (even if out of sympathy as i sadly lost my iPhone in Camden yesterday. (which makes me want to cry every time i think about it - silly me didn't have my baby insured)

On a happier note, we cant wait to get this blog up and running - it'll be a great distraction from the heartbreak of my lost phone!
